BOAT DESCRIPTION
1987 Blackfin 36’Combi with Tuna Tower. (2 stations)

Major restoration from 1999 to present by licensed USCG Capt/Marine Surveyor

The upper deck, house, cockpit and transom were all refinished and painted with Alrip.

Engines: Twin 671TIB Detroit Diesels rated at 485 HP each. Twin Disc Transmissions. Major rebuilds on both engines including 2 new heads, blowers, turbochargers, and heat exchangers. 420 gallons fuel and 96 gallons water.

Electronics: Northstar 6000i GPS chartplotter/fishfinder with video capability to Sony DVD/VCR/TV. There is flat screen TV mounted in the forward Stateroom which also has a privacy teak door and cedar hanging closet. The Northstar 800 Loran is located at both helms. Furuno open array radar, B&G digital depth finder, additional Furuno color fish finder in helm dash, Robertson auto pilot,
Icom SSB long range radio, Icom VHF. Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp. which powers the remote controlled Sirius satellite stereo/CD with 2 8” sub woofers, 2 Quartz Mobile marine speakers, 2 Boston Acoustic speakers. There is an A-B switch that enables the stereo to provide sound to the 6000i screen which provides awesome sound.

Galley and Cabin type features: Norcold refrigerator/freezer, Origo 2 burner alcohol stove, combo microwave/convection oven, cockpit freezer. The helm deck has a dry bar with ice maker. There is air conditioning/heat.

Head features: Porcelain bowl with heavy duty Galley Maid macerator/salt water pump, which has been replaced. The holding tank pump has also been replaced. There is a marble sink with plenty of storage and a separate shower with glass door.

Fishing features: Bait prep next to cockpit freezer which has fresh and salt water faucets. There is a built in custom tackle box. Live well. Lee outriggers (not shown), Cannon electric downrigger, salt water wash down, fighting chair, 8 rod holders in covering boards, 5 additional rocket launcher holders, custom overhead rod holders at helm deck for all types of Lee rods, custom teak overhead rod holders in main stateroom.

Additional Restoration features: The windshield, which is made of tempered glass was removed and polished with pumas while the vessel was being painted with Algrip. The windshield frame was painted with Imron. All bright work was stripped. 3 coats of Cetol satin and then 3 coats of Cetol gloss were applied which has resulted in no further maintenance. The helm deck which is also teak, was finished with Cetol satin which has been easy to maintain. The fishing cockpit had been finished in Cetol satin with sand which worked well with deck shoes but was slippery on wet bare feet. This has been corrected this year 2007, by stripping the finish, sanding and treated with teak oil which requires once a year maintenance. The covering boards are treated with Cetol satin with non skid boarding pads. Fit and finish is classic excellence.

Engine room features: The entire engine room wiring has been cleaned. Four 8-D Rolls deep cycle batteries were added with all new wiring. The battery box is located between the engines in a custom made ¾ “ marine plywood box that has been painted with Algrip, which also makes a great engine room work platform. 3000 watt inverter, battery charger, fresh water wash down in engine room. New bonding wire for all systems. Custom added 110 volt engine room intake fan for added air flow. The hot water tank and actuator have been replaced. 4 bilge pumps, the aft with high water warning have been all replaced as well as the shower sump pump.

Running gear: The stainless 1 ¾” propeller shafts, struts, rudders and recessed trim tabs were all sanded to bare metal. 2 part etching paint was applied, then 2 coats of two part epoxy primer, then 3 coats of Trilex 33 white bottom paint was applied to all metal surfaces. Along with proper bonding, this system encapsulates the metals to help reduce electrolysis and provides longer zinc life which indicates that it works. The props are 25”x 24” and are made of Nibral and are in excellent condition. The port side prop shaft has been replaced due to a cut into the shaft by the previous owner. There is also a spare set of refinished props. Both shafts have Spur line cutters that cost $400.00 each.

Additional features: Boarding dive ladder, remote wireless spotlight, spreader lights, full enclosure, windshield wipers, custom drink holders, 4 turbo fans throughout vessel, automatic 406 MHZ satellite tracking device, 8 man life raft.
The 50 Amp shore power cord has been converted down to 30 Amp for present marina. Both amperages can be used.

This vessel was built of the highest standards and is an outstanding sea boat. With a 14’ 6” beam it provides the most room of any boat in this class. Replacement value is at least $500,000.00
