LAYOUT:

Pilgrim was built as a “stretched” version of Covey Island’s popular Spencer Lincoln 38-footer. The extra length allows for a second cabin opposite the head and shower. Galley is up, to port opposite the helm. The helm station includes an oak banker’s chair, extended to the proper height, with a custom cushion, and an oak wheel with custom bezel. Aft of the helm there is a nav station (new 2006) including AM/FM/CD/XM capable stereo; behind this there are two armchairs with room between for a folding coffee table. (These chairs and table can be removed in favor of a pipe berth, also provided.) To port is a comfortable dinette which converts to a double berth. The afterdeck has two full-length bench seats, with cushions, and a mahogany-strip deck.

There is ample stowage throughout, including three sets of deep drawers for clothing and bedding and three hanging lockers below, stowage for a complete set of tools and spare parts (all included), lockers for spices, cookware, dishes, glasses, cutlery, food and drink, and all incidentals. The cockpit lazarettes easily hold the dinghy (new 2005), motor (Johnson 4-horse twin) and fuel tank, cockpit barbeque, and lines and fenders. Canvas covering all the exposed wood (except the accent strips and anchor platform) is included. A locker holding two 20-lb propane tanks is provided. There is a H & C freshwater cockpit shower, a freshwater faucet in the cockpit, and an anchor washdown on the bow.

All the cushions, including cockpit cushions, were redone for 2005, with light blue Ultrasuede covering all of the interior cushions. Tempurpedic foam was used for the V-berth and second cabin berth cushions. A summer/winter weight sleeping sack was custom made for the V-berth and is included. Separate cushions fitting the dinette when used for sleeping are included. Blinds were also redone in 2005, and new area rugs are also included. The after decking was redone in 2006 in mahogany. Counters in the head and galley are Corian. Interior lights include ample dome and incidental lights, plus new four reading lights (2005).
